Monday - Labor Day
Tuesday - Today students were introduced to their new project, the Self-Portrait in a Box. They took some notes and we looked at a few past projects. For the project, students need to bring in 6 small hand held objects that have meaning for them or represent things that have meaning for them. I demonstrated how to draw contour line drawings of hands and then the students began practicing. Students should have their sketchbooks for tomorrow. If the student is not done with the Graffiti Color Wheel Project, they need to come in to finish it during my office hours.
Wednesday - Today was sketchbook day. Students created an art piece in their sketchbook.
Thursday - today I demonstrated creating an observational contour line drawing of a hand in two different poses and as I completed a step, students followed along. Tomorrow we will begin the final drawings for the Self-Portrait in a Box project. Students will need small hand held objects that have meaning for them or represent them in some way to draw from for the project.
