Monday - Today students continued working on the 1 Point Perspective Room Project.
Monday - Today I did a demonstration on using watercolor pencils. Today students started a new bell work handout. Students then continued working on the 1 Pt. Perspective Room Project.
Tuesday - Today students continued working on the 1 Point Perspective Room Project. Tomorrow students will need their sketchbooks. Wednesday - Today was sketchbook day. Students worked in their sketchbooks. Thursday - Today students continued working on the 1 Point Perspective Room Project. Friday - Today students continued working on the 1 Point Perspective Room Project. Students should be completed with this project by early next week. Monday - Today students worked on creating thumbnail planning sketches for their 1 pt perspective room projects. They then began working on their final artworks for the project. Tuesday - Today students took a quiz over the notes they took on 1-point perspective. When they finished they worked on their 1 point perspective room projects. Students will need their sketchbooks tomorrow. Wednesday - Today was sketchbook day. Students created an artwork in their sketchbooks. They will need 3 completed pages by Friday. Thursday - Students continued to work on their 1 point perspective room projects. They will be turning in their bell work handouts and their sketchbooks with 3 drawings tomorrow. Friday - Today students turned in their sketchbooks with 3 drawings and their bell work handouts today. Students then continued working on their 1 point perspective rooms project.
Monday - Labor Day. Tuesday - Today we continued to work on the furniture practice handout. Students need to have their sketchbooks for tomorrow. Wednesday - Today was sketchbook day. Students spent the class period working in their sketchbooks. Thursday - Today we finished the furniture drawing practice handout using the one-point perspective technique. students turned them in for a grade. Friday - Today we started drawing on our final paper for the My Perfect Room Project. Students drew their back wall, side walls, ceiling, and floor of their rooms.
Monday - Today students reflected on their performance on the Name Transformation Project and graded themselves against the rubric. This is due tomorrow. Tuesday - Today students took notes on our new unit covering One-Point Perspective. In this unit students will learn the one-point perspective technique and creating the illusion of 3-D space on a 2-D surface. Wednesday - Today was sketchbook day. Students created an artwork in their sketchbook. Thursday - today we had a fire drill. We then completed the notes packet by practicing drawing cubes using the 1 point perspective technique. Friday - Today students spent the first part of the period getting caught up with missing work. We then worked on a 1 point perspective practice handout that will help students learn to draw furniture using the technique.
Monday - Students continued to work on the final artwork for the Name Transformation Project. Tuesday - Students continued to work on the final artwork for the Name Transformation Project. They need to have their sketchbooks tomorrow. If students have not turned in their forms that they received at the beginning of the year or paid for their agenda they need to do so. Wednesday - Sketchbook Day. Students created an artwork in their sketchbooks. They need to have 3 completed drawings labeled and ready to turn in by Friday. Thursday - Today students continued to work on their Name Transformation Projects. This project should be finished by the end of class tomorrow. If they are done with the project, they worked in their sketchbooks. Their sketchbooks will be turned in tomorrow with 3 labeled and completed drawings Friday - Today students turned in their sketchbooks along with a reflection on each page. They also turned in their sketches they did for the Name Transformation Project. Today was the last day for students to work on the Name Transformation Project in class. The few students that have not finished their projects can take them home or complete them during my office hours.
Monday - We reviewed the expectations for the Name Transformation Project. I demonstrated how to begin the final artwork. Students continued to work on their Name Transformation Project brainstorm and sketches for their final artwork.
Tuesday - Today students should have finished their brainstorming and sketches and begun their final artwork for the Name Transformation Project. Students turned in their brainstorming handouts. Wednesday - Sketchbook Day. Students should have been working on their second artwork of the quarter in their sketchbooks. Thursday - Students should be working on their final artwork for their Name Transformation Project. Friday - Students worked on the final artwork for the Name Transformation Project. Monday - Today we watched videos on art and discussed what we think about art and meaning and it has for us. Tuesday - Today we went over sketchbook expectations. Students turned in their syllabus. They will need their sketchbooks by tomorrow. Wednesday - Today is sketchbook day. Students created an artwork in their sketchbooks. Thursday - Each student was given a piece of paper with a 1/4 circle in a square. They then could create any kind of artwork in the square with the 1/4 circle as long as it shows creativity, craftsmanship and filled the space. Each artwork the students create is to become part of a larger artwork. Friday - Today I introduced our first project the Name Transformation Project and showed students some examples. They then worked on a brainstorming handout and planning sketches.
Thursday - Welcome to Art and Design class. Today we started going over the syllabus including contact information, class overview, and the required materials for the class. Students filled out a getting to know you handout. We also played some icebreaker games. Friday - Today we finished going over the syllabus covering the rules and procedures of the class. We also covered bell work procedures and did our first bell work square. The syllabus is due signed by Tuesday of next week. Students need to have a sketchbook by Tuesday of next week.
