Monday - Today we started our first project of the quarter, the figure in motion. for this project students will learn the basics of drawing the figure (no more stick figures from now on) and then sculpt a figure using wire, foil, and paper mache'. Students worked on a handout where they practiced drawing the figure in motion in the correct proportion. This handout is due on Thursday. The 1/4 circle drawing was turned in today.
Tuesday - Students continued to work on the figure drawing handouts. They then had to choose a picture they found from the internet of a figure in motion and create a larger drawing of the figure using a pose-able mannequin as a model of how the drawing should turn out. This eliminates the challenge of complex details like clothes, facial features, hands, other features. They are then to shade their drawings using colored pencil. This drawing should be done by the end of the week. Tomorrow students will need to have their sketchbooks.
Wednesday - Today was sketchbook day. Students created an artwork in their sketchbook. This should be their second entry.
Thursday - Today students finished their figure drawing handouts and then moved on to the larger drawing of a figure in motion which they will have to shade.
