Monday - Today we discussed Graffiti Art as both vandalism and an artform. We watched a couple of videos on the history of the Graffiti Art Movement. We then went over some basic color theory and the color wheel. Students took notes.
Tuesday - Today students used rulers to separate their pages into 12 sections - one for every color on the color wheel.
Wednesday - Today was sketchbook day. Students did an artwork in their sketchbooks. They should have at least 2 sketchbook entries this quarter.
Thursday - Today I demonstrated different ways to draw my name in Graffiti letters that students can apply to their own name. Students then practiced writing their name in Graffiti letters in their sketchbooks. When they found a design they liked, they drew it on top of the color wheel they drew on Tuesday and then labeled where each could should go.
Friday - Students finished practicing drawing their name in Graffiti letters and transferred their design to their color wheels - labeling where each color should go.
